Dream Spider

Ink and color pencil.

I had a dream a few nights ago that I accidently took acid. I saw this bug climbing on Doug's door. I hid under the sheets, and I thought it landed on my head. Doug told me it was only a spider, and he shooed it. It scared me. Its wings were thick and round, made out of candy.

Now I think it looks delicious. But at the time it was scary.

I think this is the first time I have ever tried to draw something I saw in a dream. Maybe it's just the first time I succeeded.

Illustration Friday: Wired

Ink and color pencil!

This is just a temporary picture, so I have something to post before Friday.
So here!
Jo's Joe.

I still need to do the background (just a simple blue....ness) and then I will scan it and it will be beautiful! Now it is scanned and beautiful.

Hurray.

This is what I have been like the past few days anytime past nightfall.

UGH.

This is an old one, acrylic on unprimed canvas (or, actually, the unprimed side of a primed canvas). "Mouth". 2003, maybe 2004. I don't recall.

I need a scanner.
I can't update without a scanner.
I tried taking a picture of my most recent drawring with my cameraphone, but it just looked icky.
So tomorrow!
Update-tacular.
because doug has a scanner and he loves me and will let me use it.

Politicians are icky

Ink, with brushpens.

Sometimes when I am unhappy I feel like drawing angry mouths. This one developed into a politician. Ew. Politicians certainly do make me unhappy.

I think that the themes that keep popping up in the work I am happiest with -- like this and my cranes -- stem from one night when I was watching the movie "Come and See," and there was a closeup of an ugly, screaming, Nazi mouth. There was also a crane following the protaganist around. And I drew them. I wonder how long it will last, and how much it will figure into future works? hm.

I need a scanner. I am sick of these ugly pictures from my phone. blegh. new scanned version! yay!
